Fuel for Thought: 3 P's of practise applied to leaders

Letter P representing P's of Practise

At the beginning of our ILM Course we were asked about our 3 Ps of practice. It struck me that these could as easily be applied to leaders in business as well as coaches and mentors.

What is your philosophy of change and support? This may include values, beliefs, theoretical perspectives, main assumptions about human nature, change and influence.

What purpose does your coaching or mentoring serve? This may include intention, outputs, the impact of your activity.

What process is appropriate to your purpose and philosophy? This may include description of what you do (what happens) when you work with other stakeholders.

What do you think? What are your 3Ps?
